My Girls and Me

Here we are somewhere on the Natchez Trace last Thanksgiving.

If you haven't been able to tell from my comments, I am so very proud of my daughters. They are beautiful, funny and extremely smart. Perhaps a little too smart for me sometimes. It seems that my humerous comment about the "MSU Bullpups" getting pounded by the Tide offended one of my girls. In response, she now has her own blogspot (link is referenced above). She thinks her blog will be much better than her mom's but we'll let you be the judge of that.

Now that I have created my own family blog, I have discovered that we really don't lead such interesting lives. But for those I do not keep in touch with as I should, I hope you find this informative and not too boring.

SCHOOL- The Bridges' Girls

The first nine weeks of school is almost over. Adrienne is in the midst of nine week exams. As always, she is doing extremely well in school. She does not, however, enjoy the "Computer Discovery" class she must take as an eighth-grader. Brooke is having a good year, doing well in all subjects. Her most "notable" achievement this year is that she made "The Notables," the 5th-grade choir at her school. The group will have their first performance sometime in December.

DRAMA - The Bridges' Girls

Brooke also landed the role of "the ugly stepsister" in the 5th grade's musical, "The Granny Awards." The whole program is a spoof of the Grammy Awards for fairy tales. I must say that both of my daughters are amazing actresses, as they are definitely not type-casted. Brooke is no ugly stepsister and she should be playing Cinderella! As you may recall, Adrienne played a "scientist geek" in our church youth group's dinner theater, "Meet Me at Luigi's." She dislikes science and she is not a geek. At the first opportunity, I will post photos of my budding actresses in their respective roles.

EXCITING NEWS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

On November 10 (on Julia's xxxxth birthday), our whole family will travel to Starkville, MS, to watch the Crimson Tide pound the little MSU Bullpups. It will be a day of sadness for dear old Dad and Adrienne and a day of triumph for Brooke and Mom! Photos of that event will definitely be posted.

HALLOWEEN

Brooke plans to be a fairy for Halloween because her mother told her she would get only one costume for the ugly stepsister and for the holiday. It should be an interesting time for make-up! Adrienne has not yet decided on a costume, although she said she might dress up like the 80s. That makes me feel really OLD!

Hope you enjoy this snipit of our boring existence....

My high tech friend, Marla, has advised me that it is time to post some information on my blog. At the time I created this blog about my family, I thought "HOW FUN!" As you can see, my excitement didn't last long.

Keep an eye out for new postings. I must scan some photos of my family so that I can share them on this blog. Until then, keep on watching!
